چکیده
The paper is concerned with the three-dimensional electromagnetic scattering from a large open rectangular cavity that embedded in perfectly electrically conducting infinite ground plane. By introducing transparent boundary condition, problem formulated into value bounded cavity. Based on Fourier expansions of electric field, Maxwell equation reduced to one-dimensional ordinary differential equations for coefficients. A fast algorithm, employing transform and Gaussian elimination, developed solve resulting linear system which filled either homogeneous or layered medium. In addition, novel scheme designed evaluate rapidly accurately singular integrals. Numerical experiments are presented cavities demonstrate superior performance proposed method.

A fast direct solver for high frequency scattering from a large cavity in two dimensions
We present a fast direct solver for the simulation of electromagnetic scattering from an arbitrarily-shaped, large, empty cavity embedded in an infinite perfectly conducting half space. The governing Maxwell equations are reformulated as a well-conditioned second kind integral equation and the resulting linear system is solved in nearly linear time using a hierarchical matrix factorization tech...
متن کاملStability of the Scattering from a Large Electromagnetic Cavity in Two Dimensions
This work is concerned with a time harmonic scattering problem of electromagnetic waves from a two-dimensional open cavity embedded in the infinite ground plane. Because of the highly oscillatory nature of the solution for large or deep cavity, the model scattering problem is challenging both mathematically and computationally. A variational formulation reduces the scattering problem into a bou...
متن کاملA Second-Order Method for the Electromagnetic Scattering from a Large Cavity
In this paper, we study the electromagnetic scattering from a two dimensional large rectangular open cavity embedded in an infinite ground plane, which is modelled by Helmholtz equations. By introducing nonlocal transparent boundary conditions, the problem in the open cavity is reduced to a bounded domain problem. A hypersingular integral operator and a weakly singular integral operator are inv...
متن کاملA Fast Algorithm for Covering Rectangular Orthogonal Polygons with a Minimum Number of r-Stars
Introduction This paper presents an algorithm for covering orthogonal polygons with minimal number of guards. This idea examines the minimum number of guards for orthogonal simple polygons (without holes) for all scenarios and can also find a rectangular area for each guards. We consider the problem of covering orthogonal polygons with a minimum number of r-stars. In each orthogonal polygon P,...
